The HCSPC brings together people from all walks of life who want to make a difference in preventing suicide. Our volunteers and community agency partners all contribute towards a safer community.
Mission Statement
We envision a community in which people feel hopeful, connected, and have the resources they need to experience a life worth living.
Vision
Our group organizes educational, supportive and awareness events or activities throughout the year. Through proactive and preventative volunteer networking, the coalition is a valuable resource for suicide awareness, prevention, intervention and support following the loss of lives due to suicide.
We believe that the world is a better place with you in it. Some of our efforts have included:- Prevention through community education and outreach
- International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day events
- Professional networking to provide easier access to services
Core Values- Compassion
We believe in the power of empathy and understanding. We are committed to creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where every person is treated with dignity and respect. - Awareness
We strive to increase awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide. Knowledge is essential to recognizing the warning signs and providing help before it’s too late. - Collaboration
We understand that suicide prevention is a collective effort. By working with local organizations, healthcare providers, and communities, we can make a greater impact in providing resources and building stronger support networks. - Access
We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to the resources, support, and care they need to prevent suicide. Mental health services and crisis intervention should be accessible to all, regardless of background or circumstance. - Hope
We believe in the power of hope and the ability for individuals to heal, grow, and recover. We work to inspire optimism in the face of adversity and remind people that they are not alone. - Prevention
We are committed to proactive measures that promote mental wellness, intervene early, and reduce the risk of suicide. Prevention is the key to saving lives and fostering long-term well-being. - Education
We prioritize education to empower individuals, families, and communities to understand mental health and suicide prevention. We aim to equip people with the tools to respond to crises with confidence and care. - Inclusivity
We are committed to creating a coalition that is diverse, inclusive, and accessible to all people, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. Mental health challenges affect everyone, and solutions must reflect this diversity.
