Two Hays County Judges Inducted into College of Justice Court College

On October 16, 2017, Justices of the Peace, Judge Scott Cary, Pct. 5 and Judge Beth Smith, Pct. 2, both of Hays County, were inducted into College of Justice Court College. They were 2 of 31 Judges in the State of Texas to be inducted into the ranks as Distinguished Members.  In the State, there are approximately 863 Justices of the Peace in Texas.  In addition to annual mandatory continuing education hours, each went above and beyond, taking it upon themselves, to study harder and delve deeper into the laws of the state.  Smith stated, "it's hard to find time with this job to go to legislative updates and watch webinars on subjects that I may need just a bit more knowledge", but both Smith and Cary say "it's worth it to be in an elite group of a few judges."
